How much is a Samoyed in Singapore? As a guide, a Samoyed puppy from our AVS-licensed shop costs about S$7,000–S$9,500, and running costs come to roughly S$300–S$450 a month once the puppy is home. That makes the Samoyed one of the most expensive breeds to buy and keep here. It is also not an HDB breed, so it only suits a condo or landed home whose rules allow a medium-to-large dog, with air-conditioning running most of the day.
Furgive You SG is an AVS-licensed puppy shop (Licence AS24C00019) at 278 East Coast Road, Singapore 428944. We are open Tuesday to Sunday, 12pm–6pm, by appointment, and closed on Mondays. Our Samoyeds are ethically imported from a small number of overseas breeders through our licensed shop. We do not breed locally.

Samoyed puppy price bands in Singapore (2026)
Our Samoyed page and our 2026 puppy price guide both quote a guide band of about S$7,000–S$9,500. Where a puppy sits in that band usually depends on:
- Litter size and availability. Fewer Samoyeds are exported to Singapore each season than popular poodle crosses, which keeps the band high.
- Age on arrival. Puppies that arrive older have had more care and vet work before they reach us.
- Timing. Waitlist buyers often get more choice than someone who needs a puppy this week.
These are honest guide ranges, not a fixed price list. Prices move with each litter, so confirm the current figure on WhatsApp before you plan around it.
Why Samoyeds cost more than many small breeds
A Samoyed is a heavily coated Arctic breed. Sourcing well-bred puppies, flying them on approved routes and clearing AVS import checks takes more work per puppy than for the small breeds most Singapore homes choose. Our price guide puts large, rare or heat-sensitive breeds at the top of the market for exactly this reason.
What the price includes at an AVS-licensed shop
At Furgive You, the quoted price is the price you pay at collection. For a Samoyed, it covers:
- vaccinations suited to the puppy's age, and deworming
- an AVS microchip
- a vet health certificate
- AVS import paperwork and clearance through AVS import checks
- our 48-hour health guarantee (subject to terms)
- lifetime WhatsApp support from our team
Some sellers quote the puppy alone and bill import, vaccination, microchip or vet clearance separately. Our price guide notes those add-ons can come to S$800–S$2,000. Always ask any seller, us included, for a written breakdown before you compare two numbers.
Monthly and first-year Samoyed budget
The purchase price is only part of the cost. Our price guide puts a Samoyed at roughly S$300–S$450 a month, because food, grooming and vet costs all scale with body size and coat volume.
| Cost item | Guide figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Puppy (guide band) | S$7,000–S$9,500 | Our Samoyed page and price guide |
| Monthly running costs | S$300–S$450 | Our price guide |
| One-off set-up (crate, bedding, bowls, harness, grooming tools) | S$400–S$800 | Our price guide |
| AVS dog licence, one year | S$15 sterilised / S$90 not sterilised | AVS licence fees page |
| Pet insurance (optional) | S$40–S$90 a month | Our price guide |
Estimate for year one: add the puppy band to twelve months of running costs (S$3,600–S$5,400) and you reach roughly S$10,600–S$14,900. With set-up, the estimate is about S$11,000–S$15,700. This is an estimate, not a quote. It excludes air-conditioning, sterilisation and emergency vet bills.
Our price guide notes a single emergency vet visit can run S$300–S$1,500, so either build a buffer or look at insurance (and read the exclusions).
Grooming: the cost Samoyed owners underestimate
Samoyeds shed heavily and blow their undercoat. Our Samoyed page recommends brushing three to four times a week plus a professional groom every 6–8 weeks. Never shave a Samoyed to the skin. The coat insulates against heat as well as cold. A good slicker brush, undercoat rake and a high-velocity dryer are worth budgeting for in your set-up.
Cooling: the cost you cannot skip
We do not publish an electricity figure because it depends on your home, your unit and your tariff. What we can say honestly: a Samoyed in Singapore needs reliable air-conditioning, cool flooring, indoor rest through the hottest hours, and walks only at dawn or after dark. If running air-conditioning for much of the day does not fit your budget, this is not the right breed.
Samoyeds, HDB flats and condos
This is where we would rather be blunt than sell you the wrong dog.
HDB allows one dog of an approved breed per flat. The approved breeds are a named list in the Schedule to the Housing and Development (Animals) Rules 2024: 61 named breeds, plus item 62 for a cross of any two of them. It is not a weight or height test.
Before you consider a Samoyed for a flat, check HDB's approved list of breeds yourself. Do not assume a large, heavy-coated breed is allowed. AVS also states that HDB owners who break HDB's rules can face a fine of up to S$4,000 (AVS limits of ownership). See HDB's keeping pets page for the official position.
In a condo, your MCST by-laws decide whether a Samoyed is allowed, so check them before you pay a deposit. AVS allows up to three licensed dogs or cats in a private home.
Climate, exercise and who a Samoyed suits
A Samoyed is sociable, vocal and affectionate. It does best with a family that is home a lot. In Singapore:
- Walk at dawn and after dark only, and check the pavement with the back of your hand first.
- Keep indoor rest cool through the middle of the day.
- Learn the signs of heat stress: heavy panting, brick-red gums, thick drool or wobbliness. Cool your dog with room-temperature water on the belly and paws, never ice water, and call your vet.
If you want a smaller, HDB-eligible white spitz-type dog, ask us about the Japanese Spitz (item 29 on the Schedule) instead.
How to avoid an overpriced or risky Samoyed
Our price guide warns that any imported breed listed far below normal ranges usually hides something: an undocumented import, no AVS licence behind the sale, or a puppy moved on too early. Ask any seller:
- What is your AVS pet shop licence number?
- Which breeder and which country did this puppy come from?
- Can I see the vaccination card and health certificate?
- Can I meet the puppy in person before paying a deposit?
A legitimate seller will answer all four without hesitation. We are happy to answer them at our East Coast Road showroom.
