A deposit reserves a specific West Highland Terrier puppy and is only taken after you've met the puppy or seen full video and paperwork. The balance is settled at collection in our showroom, where we walk you through the health records, feeding plan and the first week at home. HDB rules and housing

The West Highland Terrier sits within HDB's approved small-dog list, so you can keep one in an HDB flat, a condominium or a landed home. HDB allows one dog per approved flat, and your puppy must be licensed with AVS and microchipped — both of which we handle before your puppy leaves our showroom. Condo owners should still check their MCST by-laws for lift and common-area rules. An adult Westie weighs about 7–10 kg and stands 25–28 cm tall, inside HDB's approved small-breed guidance.

Space, exercise and daily routine

Westies are terriers and want a purposeful 45 minutes a day — two brisk walks plus a game of tug or fetch keeps them settled indoors. Whatever the breed, walks in Singapore belong in the cooler hours — before roughly 9am and after 7pm — with water on hand and a quick pavement temperature check with the back of your hand. On rainy days, swap the walk for scent games, puzzle feeders or short training drills indoors.

Family, kids and other pets

Westies suit families with school-age children who respect a dog with opinions, and they can live happily with other dogs when socialised early. You're welcome to bring your children — and your current dog, with a diaper on — to meet our puppies at the showroom so you can see the dynamic for yourself before deciding.

Temperament, training and neighbours

Confident, curious and naturally alert, a Westie will bark at corridor noise unless you train a quiet cue and reward calm behaviour from puppyhood. Start crate training and toilet routines from day one, keep training sessions short and reward-based, and socialise your puppy with lifts, void decks and delivery trolleys early — in dense Singapore housing, a confident dog is a quiet dog.

Managing heat and humidity

Westies are prone to skin flare-ups in humidity, so rinse and dry after outdoor time, avoid over-bathing, and keep walks to the cooler hours. Watch for heavy panting, brick-red gums, thick drool or wobbliness — the early signs of heat stress. Cool your dog with room-temperature water on the belly and paws, never ice water, and call your vet immediately.

Coat, skin and grooming

The coarse white double coat is low-shedding but needs weekly brushing and hand-stripping or clipping every 8–10 weeks to keep the texture and skin healthy. Dry the coat thoroughly after every bath — damp fur in our humidity is the single biggest cause of hot spots and yeast — and check ears weekly, as Singapore's climate makes ear infections common in dogs with drop or heavily coated ears.

Feeding and healthy growth

Feed a small-breed puppy formula three times a day until six months, and consider a limited-ingredient diet if your vet flags any skin sensitivity. Keep your puppy lean; excess weight is the most avoidable contributor to joint problems later in life. Fresh water should always be available, and food portions adjusted every few weeks as your puppy grows.

Vet care and health screening

Watch for atopic skin disease and patellar luxation, and keep on top of dental care — small jaws crowd easily and tartar builds fast. Complete the vaccination series on schedule and start heartworm prevention early — mosquitoes make heartworm a year-round risk in Singapore. Every West Highland Terrier we import arrives with breeder health records, so your own vet has full history from the very first visit.

Puppies stay with their litter until they are old enough to travel, fly on approved routes, then clear AVS import and quarantine requirements before arriving with us. Each puppy is examined by our vet on arrival, settled at the showroom, and only listed once we're satisfied it is healthy, eating well and comfortable with people.
