One honest note before you fall for a golden puppy: Golden Retrievers are not on HDB's approved-breed Schedule, so they suit condos and landed homes (subject to MCST by-laws), not HDB flats.
Golden Retriever cost of ownership in Singapore
A golden retriever Singapore home needs room for a 25–34 kg adult, daily activity in the cooler hours and an air-conditioned or well-ventilated indoor rest area. Golden Retrievers are not a named HDB Schedule breed and are typically kept in private condominiums or landed homes, subject to MCST by-laws — check the current official housing rules. Read our Golden Retriever care guide and home training guide. Our guide on what to know before bringing a Golden home uses adoption wording in its title, but puppies here are purchased from a licensed pet shop, not adopted from a shelter.

Golden Retriever puppy price in Singapore (2026)
Golden Retriever puppy prices in Singapore generally range from about S$5,500 to S$8,500. The spread comes down to coat colour, age at arrival and how many puppies are in the litter — cream and lighter English-type Goldens usually sit at the higher end because fewer are exported each season.
At Furgive You SG the quoted price is the price you pay at collection. There is no separate import surcharge, no vaccination top-up and no microchip fee added at the counter.

Ongoing cost of owning a Golden Retriever in Singapore
Budget roughly S$200–S$350 a month once your puppy is home. Large-breed kibble is the biggest recurring line item, followed by grooming and preventives.
- Premium large-breed food: S$90–S$150/month
- Professional grooming every 6–8 weeks: S$70–S$120 per session
- Heartworm, tick and flea prevention: S$30–S$50/month
- Annual vaccination and health check: S$150–S$300/year
- Pet insurance (optional): S$40–S$90/month
Why cheap Golden Retriever puppies are a red flag
Listings well below S$4,000 usually mean undocumented imports, no AVS licence behind the sale, or puppies moved on before they are ready to leave their litter. Ask any seller for their AVS licence number, the breeder's name and the puppy's health records before you place a deposit — we're happy for you to ask us the same questions.
Is a Golden Retriever right for your home in Singapore?
Goldens are one of the easiest large breeds to live with, but Singapore adds two constraints most guides skip: housing rules and heat. Work through both before you commit.
HDB rules and housing
Check current official housing rules. Golden Retrievers are typically kept in private condominiums or landed homes, subject to MCST by-laws. For HDB flats, use our HDB-suitable breeds guide, and do not assume a cross is approved. Check the official HDB Keeping Pets page and the Housing and Development (Animals) Rules Schedule (61 named breeds, plus item 62 for a cross of any two listed breeds). Dog licences are issued by AVS, not HDB. For HDB flats, see our HDB-suitable breeds guide.
Space, exercise and daily routine
An adult Golden needs 60–90 minutes of activity daily, split into a cooler morning walk and an evening session. They are indoor dogs — never kennelled outside in Singapore's climate — and they do best with a shaded or air-conditioned rest spot, a non-slip floor area for play, and mental work such as scent games or training drills on rainy days.
Family, kids and other pets
Goldens are famously tolerant with children and settle quickly alongside cats and smaller dogs when introduced properly. Supervise toddlers during the bouncy 4–10 month stage: a growing Golden simply doesn't yet know its own size. You're welcome to bring your kids to meet our puppies at the showroom.
Caring for a Golden Retriever puppy in Singapore's climate
Managing heat and humidity
Walk before 9am and after 7pm, test the pavement with the back of your hand, and always carry water. Watch for heavy panting, brick-red gums, drooling or wobbliness — early signs of heat stress. Cool with room-temperature water on the belly and paws and call your vet immediately.
Coat, skin and grooming
Brush two to three times a week to keep the double coat ventilated — never shave it, as the undercoat is what insulates against heat. Dry thoroughly after every bath or swim; damp fur in our humidity is the main cause of hot spots. Check and dry the ears weekly, since floppy-eared breeds are prone to yeast infections here.
Feeding, joints and growth
Feed a large-breed puppy formula with controlled calcium to support steady joint development, split across three meals until six months. Avoid stair sprints and long jogs on hard ground before 12 months, and keep your puppy lean — excess weight is the single biggest contributor to hip and elbow problems in the breed.
Vet care and health screening
Complete the vaccination series and start heartworm prevention on schedule — mosquitoes make heartworm a year-round risk in Singapore. Annual checks should cover hips, elbows, eyes and heart. Every Golden we import arrives with breeder health records so your vet has full history from day one.
How our Golden Retriever puppies reach Singapore
We work with a small number of ethical overseas breeders in Australia and Ireland — kennels we know by name, where puppies are raised inside a family home rather than a commercial facility.
From breeder to our East Coast Road showroom
Puppies stay with their litter until they are old enough to travel, fly on approved routes, then clear AVS import and quarantine requirements before arriving with us. Each puppy is examined by our vet on arrival, settled at the showroom, and only listed once we're satisfied it is healthy and comfortable.
What happens when you visit
Book a private meet-and-greet at 278 East Coast Road, Singapore 428944. You'll meet the puppy in a quiet room, see the health records and import paperwork, and talk through food, crate setup and the first week at home. All collections happen in-store so we can hand over properly — we don't deliver puppies.
- AVS Licence AS24C00019 — displayed in-store
- Vaccination card and vet health certificate for every puppy, dewormed and microchipped before collection
- Lifetime WhatsApp support after you take your puppy home
Joining the Golden Retriever waitlist
Goldens are our most-requested large breed and litters are usually spoken for before they land. Join the waitlist over WhatsApp and we'll message you with photos, gender, expected arrival date and pricing as soon as the next litter is confirmed — no deposit needed to be on the list.
