Why cheap Cavapoo puppies are a red flag

Listings well below S$2,800 usually mean undocumented imports, no AVS licence behind the sale, or puppies moved on before they were ready to leave their litter. Ask any seller for their AVS licence number, the breeder's name and the puppy's health records before you place a deposit — we're happy for you to ask us exactly the same questions in person.

Deposits, payment and what happens next

A deposit reserves a specific Cavapoo puppy and is only taken after you've met the puppy or seen full video and paperwork. The balance is settled at collection in our showroom, where we walk you through the health records, feeding plan and the first week at home. Our 48-hour health guarantee covers certain specified genetic diseases where a certified vet declares the puppy unfit to be sold. It is subject to terms; ask us for the full conditions.

HDB rules and housing

A Cavapoo is not a named breed on the HDB Schedule. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (item 12) and Poodle (Toy or Miniature, item 42) are both named, so a Cavapoo can qualify under item 62 only when both parents are Schedule breeds and the Poodle parent is a Toy or Miniature. Do not assume approval; check the current official housing rules and confirm the parent breeds before buying. Condo owners should also check their MCST by-laws. An adult Cavapoo weighs about 5–9 kg and stands 25–35 cm at the shoulder. Space, exercise and daily routine

Cavapoos are happy with 30–45 minutes of daily activity — a morning walk, an evening stroll and some indoor fetch is plenty for a condo or flat. Whatever the breed, walks in Singapore belong in the cooler hours — before roughly 9am and after 7pm — with water on hand and a quick pavement temperature check with the back of your hand. On rainy days, swap the walk for scent games, puzzle feeders or short training drills indoors.

Family, kids and other pets

Cavapoos are one of the gentlest small crosses with children and elderly family members, and they generally settle beside resident cats or dogs within a week or two. You're welcome to bring your children to meet our puppies at the showroom so you can see the dynamic for yourself before deciding.

Temperament, training and neighbours

Sweet-natured and very people-focused, Cavapoos genuinely dislike being alone all day, so they suit homes where someone is around for most of it. Start crate training and toilet routines from day one, keep training sessions short and reward-based, and socialise your puppy with lifts, void decks and delivery trolleys early — in dense Singapore housing, a confident dog is a quiet dog.

Managing heat and humidity

Cavapoos inherit a slightly shorter muzzle from the Cavalier side, so they tire faster in the heat than you'd expect — keep walks cool, shaded and unhurried. Watch for heavy panting, brick-red gums, thick drool or wobbliness — the early signs of heat stress. Cool your dog with room-temperature water on the belly and paws, never ice water, and call your vet immediately.

Coat, skin and grooming

The wavy Cavalier × Poodle coat is low-shedding but mats easily in humidity; brush every other day and schedule a groom every 6–8 weeks, keeping the coat shorter through the hottest months. Dry the coat thoroughly after every bath — damp fur in our humidity is the single biggest cause of hot spots and yeast — and check ears weekly, as Singapore's climate makes ear infections common in dogs with drop or heavily coated ears.

Feeding and healthy growth

Feed a small-breed puppy formula in three meals a day until six months, then twice daily; Cavapoos will happily overeat, so measure portions rather than free-feed. Keep your puppy lean; excess weight is the most avoidable contributor to joint problems later in life. Fresh water should always be available, and food portions adjusted every few weeks as your puppy grows.

Vet care and health screening

Keep up with dental care and weekly ear cleaning for those drop ears, and have your vet listen to the heart and check the eyes at each routine visit. Complete the vaccination series on schedule and start heartworm prevention early — mosquitoes make heartworm a year-round risk in Singapore. Every Cavapoo we import arrives with breeder health records, so your own vet has full history from the very first visit.

From breeder to our East Coast Road showroom

Puppies stay with their litter until they are old enough to travel, fly on approved routes, then clear AVS import and quarantine requirements before arriving with us. Each puppy is examined by our vet on arrival, settled at the showroom, and only listed once we're satisfied it is healthy, eating well and comfortable with people.

You'll meet the puppy in a quiet room, see the health records and import paperwork, and talk through food, crate setup and the first week at home. All collections happen in-store so we can hand over properly — we don't deliver puppies.
